Baking with Mom

March 2017

I try to bake with the kids on Saturday or Sunday. I love having them there helping and learning and they enjoy licking the beaters when we're done. :)

One Sunday we made a big batch of cookies to deliver to friends. They can hardly stand it until I'm done dishing them out so they can lick the beaters and things.
Alivia's scraping out the last of the goodness from the mixing bowl. Mmmm!
This is another day about a week later when we made cookies again. We had a snow day so OF COURSE we had to do some baking. It's kind of a necessary duo- snow day  = baking yummy treats after you play in the snow.
Thanks for the help kids. I remember helping my Mom with baking and I too loved licking the beaters; of course this only applies to cookie dough, brownie, bread or cake batter is not worth it; please remember that. :)

Wacky Wednesday for Dr Suess

{3.1.17}
We've been celebrating Dr Seuss this week and Wednesday was WACKY WEDNESDAY in honor of his book. Daddy did the boys hair "all wacky" and they loved it! Levi said, "I look like a maniac!" Chuckle chuckle.

Here they are with their silliest faces.
And again.
Surprisingly their hair stayed pretty much like this the whole day. They both had a few people say "you should do your hair like this all the time. It looks cool." If they only knew all the work and GOO that went in to getting it look like this. :)

Here & there with Nana & Papa

February 22, 2017

Well, it looks like we're taking turns being sick at my house so the healthy ones decided to get out for some fresh air with Nana & Papa.

We went to the Nixon Park Nature Center. We love that place. They all all sorts of animal exhibits to look at from all sorts of habitats. They even have a kids play area.

Levi makes the cutest tree.
They even have a puppet show area. Cool!
No trip with Nana & Papa would be complete without a stop for some MAPLE DONUTS! Yes please!

Beautiful day for playing catch

February 20, 2017

Like I said, we've been having some CRAZY warm temps this "winter". Nana & Papa were in town visiting so we got out the baseball and mitts and played some "catch" with Papa.
Papa told us how him and his younger brother did this all the time growing up. They also played baseball and Church softball and were REALLY good.

Nice one Levi!
Here it comes Levi!
Papa's got it!
The kids had a great time. We should do this all the time!

67* February day

February 18, 2017

We've been having CRAZY temps this winter. 67* on Febr. 18?! We'll take it.

We "hiked" up to Highpoint to overlook the Susquehanna. Beautiful day for it!
Jackets- optional, depending on your bodily thermostat
We also went over to the new Columbia Crossing River Trails Center. Pretty neat place. They had a bunch of crafts in honor of Presidents Day. They even had these Presidential masks for photo ops. Cool guys! You chose well.
We are so blessed to live in this amazing country where we are afforded so many freedoms and luxuries. I pray the Lord will continue to guide this nation's leaders and peoples. God Bless America!

Crafting with the cousins

February 4, 2017

We had the cousins over for the day and we decided to do some Valentine's Day crafts. The kids LOVE to craft!

I found this cute Hand & Heart Card on pinterest. What a cute idea.
We made these cute "mailboxes" for valentine's deliveries. I love this idea. I remember making things like this when I was younger and I loved it. Happy the kids like it too.

{this & that} January moments 2017

We had some CRAZY warm temps in January, so we had to get out and enjoy the sunshine.
We scootered around, went for a walk, drew with sidewalk chalk and blew some bubbles.

It was the 100th day of school and you were supposed to dress up like an old man. This is what we came up with- complete with bowtie and handkerchief.
