green drink

Don't be scared off from this recipe. It is REALLY good and we've perfected it so it's even better! I really LOVE having this for breakfast (along with my MUST-HAVE toast). It's a great way to start the day. It's very filling and I feel GREAT having ingested so much goodness SO EARLY in my day.

Thank you to my friend Kelly for finding, fixing and sharing this recipe! (If you want more GREEN and less fruit in your recipe, see how Kelly adapts her's.)

Green Drink
(adapted from Under One Sun and Kelly Be Well)

1 cup orange juice

1.5-2 cups fresh baby spinach
1 navel orange, peeled and sectioned, seeds removed
1 gala apple (medium)
1 banana

1 T. agave sweetener

4-5 fresh mint leaves - optional
2-3 pinches of fresh parsley leaves- optional
ice cubes (3-4)

Directions- Blend the orange juice, spinach, orange, apple and banana in the blender. Add the agave, mint leaves and parsley. Puree well (I don't like chunks in mine, but a more SMOOTH texture.) Add the ice and blend some more (this makes your drink nice and cold, which actually does make a big deal). Enjoy!
